A true story
On an ordinary Saturday in the forests of Võru County, the following
conversation happened:
JOEL: Yo, yo, yo friend! Let’s open a casual Italian restaurant in Tartu for the whole family, what do you think?
KAIRO: Are you crazy? There’s already an Italian restaurant in Tartu, and I think a lot of places offer different Italian dishes.
JOEL: But is there one that you like? Where you feel really comfortable right away?
KAIRO: Well, if I had to offer Italian cuisine myself, I would do it a little differently.
JOEL: In what sense? How?
KAIRO: I would offer genuine soul food – I would make it like i cook for my dear wife at home, not restaurant food! You understand, genuinely good food. Honestly, I wouldn’t overdo it – pure flavors, real food!
JOEL: Aah, I already want to start, that’s a great idea! But would you do something like that??? I have a place that’s about to become available, I want to create something new and unique there.
KAIRO: Keep in mind, Joel, that we won’t be chasing Michelin stars in this case! The place would feel like you were visiting me – straight up and free from strife.
The food would be honest, the price would be right and it wouldn’t rob the people.
JOEL: Wow Kairo, you’re brilliant, that’s what Tartu is missing! A place for people, dishes without excessive garnishes, made without being pretentious – honest, homely, authentic Italian cuisine for the whole family. Simple and direct service, nice music in the background and … uhhh sounds amazing already!
KAIRO: Exactly!
JOEL: When will we open? I’ll get the IG ready! Help, I’m so looking forward to it!
KAIRO: We need a good barman and someone who can tame us boys – some down to earth women! 😉
JOEL: No worries, ma tean täpselt õigeid inimesi!
KAIRO: Crazy idea, but let’ do it!
JOEL: Did you know that crazy in Italian is PAZZO???
